Traveler through History

Celtic Wanderings
Your guide to historic tours of Britain!

General Travel Tips
Pack lightly!
Pack only what you need. Suitcases have a way of getting heavier as your trip goes on. Leave room for all the souvenirs you'll be buying!
Pack together
If you will be traveling with a companion, pack some of your belongings in each other's suitcases. That way, if one of you loses your luggage you'll still have at least some fresh clothes until you can recover your lost belongings.
Don't dress too nicely
Thieves sometimes target travelers who look well-to-do. Dressing casually can help you appear less like a worthwhile target.
Bring gum
Many flyers find that chewing gum during takeoffs and landings helps reduce pain from changing cabin pressure.
Plan carefully
Finally, plan carefully to maximize your traveling enjoyment. Even better, let Celtic Wanderings plan your vacation!
Tips for the Historical Traveler
Read up on the area you will be visiting!
Use the Celtic Wanderings resource package for background information, as well as sources of additional reading.
Identify places or historical events you would like to know more about.
Check our itinerary for which of these are included in your tour. Want to go to somewhere not mentioned? We will arrange additional stops on your tour if travel time permits.
Jot down a list of your special interests;
people, places and events, and things you would like to know. Use your notes on your tour with lecture guides and local resources. Don't be afraid to ask questions!
